New old patterns and sew-along

Oh how happy I was to receive an email from Anna from A few Threads Loose (You should definitely check that out. She has some great tutorials in there!) that I had won a give-away for a 50$ gift certificate to Patterns from the past. I have to admit, I had completely forgotten I had participated, so my astonishment was guaranteed.

So I went and spent a little more than my coupon. Here's what I picked:

Here we have a 1939 Butterick pattern for the perfect everyday dress.
An early 1950's New York pattern for a 30's inspired summer dress.
And a 50's Bernat knitting booklet.

I wonder what it is with me and knits. I keep hoarding knitting magazines, booklets and digital instruction, yet I never get anything done. I always start something new and never finish it. I have a sweater I started 2 years ago that's still not finished. And it would only need to have the cuffs finished!

I would love to make one of these though. Maybe I would even have a chance of finishing it with a chunky yarn like that.
And since I'm such a terrible hoarder (not just with knitting instructions, but also fabrics and vintage patterns) I decided to participate in the "Stashbusting Sewalong" over at Cation Designs. I pledge to use at least 2 fabric pieces from my stash this year and share the project with you. I'm going to use a vintage patterns for both projects.

But wait, there's still more! I'm also participating in the Sew Grateful week, over at My Happy Sewing Place, in February which means there will be a give-away and at least one tutorial. So stay tuned for that!
